A bit less than a year ago, I wrote about a limited time promotion where GoDaddy was offering .com domain name registrations for $0.99 … that offer is long over, but if you go visit that old article you can use that link to get .info domains for just $0.89 with no pesky coupon required.
I personally love .info domains – especially for a buck; is there any better possible investment? There are still many many .info domain names available, and registering them for less than $1 is a no-brainer.

Lunchtime – yeah, I know, I should take a break from the net at least over lunch, but hey, Lady Grey is curled up next to me on the couch and I’m enjoying a slice of Premiere Moisson bread with tuna and Tzatziki sauce.
Now on to an interesting domain name sale over on eBay. The name denial.com auction ended with 49 bids at $6100… a pretty good deal, in my opinion, for both buyer and seller. I’m thinking it’s a great generic name that can have a wide range of applications – my first thought is to develop a portal for self-help.. or perhaps a news site about politicians and/or lawyers
It seems like a legitimate sale – although we’ll have to watch the Whois information for the changes and who the new buyer is. This is one of the rarer high value domain sales that take place on eBay; we’re used to seeing these type of transactions over at SEDO:

In these times of uncertainty, domain name investments are a good choice – even though the pickings are far from what they were 3-4 years ago (or during the real gold rush back in the late 90s.)…
GoDaddy has an excellent promotion right now to get a .com domain name registration for just $0.99 for one year. That excludes the $0.20 per year ICANN fee, but regardless, it comes out to less than a $1.50 for a .com domain for one year… all included.
The above link includes the $0.99 discount code or add the coupon code 99DOMAIN in the checkout cart. Note that it’s only good for *ONE* .com registration per account at this price ; a few contacts mentioned success registering .org names as well.

1and1 is the German hosting company that roared into the US market a couple of years ago with extremely aggressive pricing on a wide range of web hosting and domain registration options.
I’ve found their web hosting (in the past) to be clunky – ok, maybe I am not a big fan of graphical hosting interfaces à la cPanel and WHM , but I digress.
They have a pretty hot sale on .US domain name registration for .US domains at $2.99 per year.
