But… today, they once again have the Dell UltraSharp 2709W 27” LCD monitor supporting 1920×1200 pixel resolution, all the input connections (HDMI, DVI, and yes – displayport) as well as 5 USB connections, an S-PVA panel, and so much more.
I wrote previously about reviews of the Dell 2709W so if you use the search feature on the top to look for my previous articles and reviews of the Dell 2709W, you’ll see that it’s been $549 and $599 so far this year.
It’s at $599 today only (until 6:00 a.m. EDT Saturday morning)… as I’ve mentioned before, I have actually used this monitor for over a year. OK, not this exact one, the 2707WFP… summary ? I love it.
BTW, Dell is experimenting with lightbox display of their promos (mistake, Mike Dell) and it’s causing so many XML errors that they have a “click here if this page isn’t displaying” option. The above link should work ok.

13 Jan 09 Dell 2709W 27-inch S-PVA LCD monitor for $599 shipped in Canada – Dell Canada Small Business Days of Deals (Day 2)
Well, I’ve been using the Dell 2707WFP monitor was almost a year now and I totally love it. It was a replacement setup for 2 separate 19-20″ monitors. The 1920×1200 resolution, superb brightness and plenty of inputs (USB, card reader, DVI, DisplayPort and more) were the perfect solution to having to deal with trying to keep reconfiguring two separate monitors as primary and secondary.
I got that 2707WFP for CAD $799 during the Dell Days of Deals in the Spring of 2008 and it’s been working great since then… (albeit with some weird off/on behaviour now and then – but not so often as to drive me nuts.)

So Dell now has their Small Business Days of Deals underway this January… and today is Day 2 with the Dell 2709W LCD for just $599 (down from $999) … today only! That comes with free shipping and a guarantee against even 1 bad pixel. Sounds mighty sweet to me. The 1920×1200 resolution, S-PVA panel, and great brightness make it nice for general purpose business use and also decent for movies. Some hardcore gamers may not be satisfied with the 6ms pixel response (grey to grey) time, but remember that S-PVA panels tend to be a bit slower than TN variants. The reward is in the warm of excellent viewing angles, brightness and color gamut.
The on-screen menu system has also been greatly improved (according to most reviews) in the 2709W over the 2707WFP… although, in all honest, I rarely use the on-screen menu. It may be important for initial calibration of color settings. Many reviews say the color is excellent, but photographers and advanced photoshop users will probably want to fine tune the sRGB settings for their eyes and workflow.
Certainly a stellar deal for a 27″ LCD S-PVA display at $599!

07 Dec 08 Wow : Top rated Ferguson Hill FH007 speaker system for $399 on Dell Days of Deals today only ! (December 7, 2008) … most stylish speakers!
Well I just got in from some (normal?) freezing Canadian weather with snow, ice and windy cold biting mother nature outside… It was a busy day with my boys, so I apoligize if this awesome Dell Days of Deals special on the Ferguson Hill FH007 speaker system on sale today only is a bit late. Hopefully you will be reading this in time to order them. If not, perhaps this will be worthwhile for reference in the future.
The Dell Days of Deals are currently underway for the pre-Christmas December 2008 session (they have these roughly every month).
A couple of days ago, they had the 2709W 27” LCD monitor on sale for one day for $599 which is an excellent monitor at a most interesting price – the regular price was $999. I use one of these Dell 27” LCD monitors (the 2707) and absolutely love it. Stunning brightness, incredible color gamut coverage and accuracy. The 2709W may not have the grey-to-grey pixel response rate (12ms) that works for most gamers, but for most users it’s an excellent display.
Now on the those Ferguson Hill FH007 “mini speaker” systems on sale today for $399. …. (more…)
