Well I just got in from some (normal?) freezing Canadian weather with snow, ice and windy cold biting mother nature outside… It was a busy day with my boys, so I apoligize if this awesome Dell Days of Deals special on the Ferguson Hill FH007 speaker system on sale today only is a bit late. Hopefully you will be reading this in time to order them. If not, perhaps this will be worthwhile for reference in the future.
The Dell Days of Deals are currently underway for the pre-Christmas December 2008 session (they have these roughly every month).
A couple of days ago, they had the 2709W 27” LCD monitor on sale for one day for $599 which is an excellent monitor at a most interesting price – the regular price was $999. I use one of these Dell 27” LCD monitors (the 2707) and absolutely love it. Stunning brightness, incredible color gamut coverage and accuracy. The 2709W may not have the grey-to-grey pixel response rate (12ms) that works for most gamers, but for most users it’s an excellent display.
Now on the those Ferguson Hill FH007 “mini speaker” systems on sale today for $399. …. These sell for over 700 pounds in the United Kingdom. Dell is the exclusive Canadian reseller of these speakers.
A quote from one of the Dell customer reviews, this one struck me:
“I have owned a lot of computer speakers, from the klipsch promedia ultras, logitech z5500, i even had my bose am10 set up. but i have never enjoyed listening to music on any set as much as these fh007. the sound is so rich and warm, it’s like having set of grado headphones set up.”
That review was written in October 2007 and he went on to say:
“The price is rather steep about 1000 cdn, but when u factor that we are paying about half what people in U.K. are paying, you can see we are getting a great deal.”
That was just over a year ago, and today Dell is offering them for $399 with free shipping! If I had the funds (and didn’t have a relatively recently purchased Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround set-up, I would certainly get these.. )
