Well, I’ve been definitely happy thus far working with the dual quad-core beast that the HP XW8400 Workstation is but … it came pre-installed with Windows Vista (32-bit) and it was one hair-pulling effort to try and get Windows XP to be installed on a second drive and have it visible and accessible.
Finally, I sort of managed it, but it wound up over writing the Windows Vista Boot Manager so… sigh, gotta fix that to boot back into the Vista installation on the C drive.
and all this to get a legal second copy of Windows XP on there… thanks Microsoft! I wonder how much is a specific HP XW8400 issue, with the SATA controller and all…
Gotta love IT.
